Country Charm Cottage with Pool & Forest Views

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER OF HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION Positive: Nothing Negative: The shower was a health risk. There was plumbing tape coming of where waterproof silicone should have been, and all bottom wall tiles had black mold, 3cms high up the wall in some places, the floor tiles also had mold in much of the grouting. Tried to adjust the shower head and it fell down on me. We had to wash the cutlery before we could use it. Dead cockroaches and moths stuck between the skirting boards and carpet. 3cm piece of ? pizza/biscuit crust found in the lampshade of a bedside light. Everything felt secondhand - freezer has cracks through it. Cupboards and shelves were dirty and lots of pieces of melamine missing. The filter in the dryer was overflowing with fluff and as such is a huge fire risk - had to clean it before I could use the dryer. The mattress was so soft that it had no support. No feeling of privacy as the only big windows faced the owners house, and other accommodation, so other people had a full view of the lounge and bedroom from outside. The grass around the pool and garden area was about 80cms high which is a concern with snakes in bushy areas. I have been told that it is professionally cleaned between stays, has regular maintenance checks, but the issues have been there for a long time, so I don't believe this. What the host, Pemmy says in her spiel is in no way reflected in the state of the cottage. I give it a 0/10

Positive: Lovely home in a beautiful location, owners were excellent with communication. Very close to Warrandyte for shops, cafes and walks. Would definitely recommend

The cottage was in a nice location, the pull out onto the road was a bit iffy due to being between 2 bends. The home itself was ok but could do with a bit of a refresh, otherwise Ok

A hidden gem - atmosphere, wild nature, comfort, beauty and restfulness Positive: This is the most idyllic and restful location imaginable, with a dreamlike wooded rural farm backdrop and primeval wilderness surrounds. The ease of getting around made the location perfect, yet it is a tranquil getaway. The cottage itself is in a timeless style taking advantage of light and views, with all modern conveniences and excellent kitchen for self-catering. Spectacular local wildlife includes kangaroos and kookaburras that seem perfectly at home. The night sky of southern Victoria is utterly majestic, a vivid panorama to be savoured in a bushland setting that is still close enough to the city. One of the most picturesque pools imaginable outside the cottage mirrors the sky and its changing moods. The nearby Yarra River offers fantastic bush hiking, and the historic goldfields town of Warrandyte offers great cafés, riverside walks and the fascinating Pound Bend Tunnel. A wonderful and rejuvenating escape! Negative: Could not have been better, a wonderful place to stay!

Positive: Location was perfect as we came down for a Wedding at Pietro Gallus Estate, peaceful private, cute cottage, along with pool and forest views, we loved it! Our transportation was via Uber, fast service but if you enjoy a drive then hire a car and it is a fair drive from airport and city. Smooth check-in as owner was promt with text messaging details etc. Perfect February weather this time! Uber eats is available if you forget to bring food along with you as we did! Milk, water, coffee, bread, etc.
